| converter |
A converter converts one type of signal to another. Adaptors simply change the physical type of plug or jack. A converter may change the style of plug or jack, but they also change the signal format to be compatible. Converters may be one way (the only convert from one type to the other, not backwards) or they may be two-way (converts either direction). One- or two-way definitions are meaningless for adaptors. |
